1. Information we collect
- Authors and submitters: name, email address, phone number when supplied, affiliation, designation, co-author details, manuscript title, abstract, manuscript file, photographs or declarations, submission status and editorial correspondence.
- Readers and correspondents: the name, email address and any information voluntarily included in an enquiry, complaint, correction request or permissions request.
- Technical information: IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, error and security logs that may be recorded by our hosting provider or web server.
- Publication information: author names, affiliations, biographies, article metadata and other material approved for publication.
- Payment information: payer name, amount, payment date, transaction reference and proof of payment needed to verify the INR 700 article processing charge or issue a refund. We do not ask authors to send card PINs, passwords or online-banking login details.
We do not currently offer a newsletter sign-up. If a newsletter is introduced, its form will identify the information collected and request separate consent for those messages.
2. Why we use information
We use personal data to receive and administer submissions; communicate decisions and editorial requests; assess originality, ethics and suitability; verify article-processing payments and refunds; edit, publish, index and preserve accepted articles; respond to enquiries and rights requests; maintain website security and availability; prevent misuse; keep administrative and integrity records; and meet legal obligations.
3. Basis and choice
Information voluntarily provided through a submission or enquiry is used for the purpose requested and for closely connected editorial and administrative functions. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent by contacting us. Withdrawal does not undo processing already lawfully completed and may prevent us from continuing a submission or service. Published scholarly records may need to be retained to protect the integrity of the publication record.
4. When information is shared
Information may be shared only as reasonably necessary with assigned editors, editorial-board members or subject reviewers; website hosting, email, storage, payment and technical-service providers; professional advisers; research institutions when a credible misconduct matter requires it; and public authorities when required by law. Accepted author and article information is made public as part of publication. We do not sell or rent personal data.
Some service providers, including hosting, email and font-delivery services, may process limited information in other countries. We select and use providers for legitimate operational purposes and seek reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service and information involved.
5. Retention
- Published articles and essential authorship, licensing, correction and ethics records may be retained as part of the permanent scholarly record.
- Rejected, withdrawn or incomplete manuscript files and related correspondence may ordinarily be retained for up to five years after the final activity to handle appeals, duplicate submissions, integrity concerns and legal claims, and may then be deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
- Routine technical logs are retained according to hosting and security needs and are deleted or overwritten when no longer reasonably necessary.
6. Cookies and external resources
The website uses a necessary session cookie to support security features such as the administration login and form-protection token. It is not used for advertising. As of this policy date, Future Agriculture does not use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking pixels or a visitor analytics service. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so a reader's IP address and browser information may be transmitted to Google when those font files are requested. If non-essential analytics or advertising technology is added, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated first.
7. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law and preservation of the scholarly record, you may ask for a summary of personal data we process, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of information no longer needed, withdrawal of consent, or review of a privacy grievance. You may also nominate another person to exercise applicable rights in the event of death or incapacity. We may need to verify identity before completing a request.
8. Security and breaches
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal data, including restricted administrative access, secure sessions, HTTPS and controlled manuscript storage. No internet system is completely secure. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will assess it and provide notifications required by applicable law.
9. Children
The submission service is intended for adults. A person under 18 should submit personal data or a manuscript only with verifiable consent and involvement of a parent or lawful guardian. The website is not intended for behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising to children.
10. Grievances and updates
Send a privacy grievance to chiefeditor@futureagriculture.co.in with the subject "Privacy Request". We will acknowledge and address it within a reasonable period. This notice is designed to reflect the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its phased implementation. Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
