Every submission receives editorial review. Future Agriculture does not represent every article as externally peer reviewed. If independent subject-expert or peer review is used for a particular article, that fact may be stated on the article or in its publication record.
1. Scope and editorial standards
Future Agriculture E-Magazine considers English-language articles relevant to agriculture and allied disciplines. Editorial decisions are based on relevance, originality, clarity, accuracy, ethical soundness and value to readers. Decisions must not be influenced by an author's nationality, institution, gender, religion, political belief or other personal characteristic unrelated to the manuscript.
2. Editorial and review process
- Initial screening: the editorial office checks scope, completeness, format, authorship details and basic compliance with the submission guidelines.
- Integrity screening: the manuscript may be checked for plagiarism, duplicate publication, citation problems, image manipulation or other concerns. The current author guide states that a similarity index above 15% requires revision; similarity is assessed in context and is not, by itself, proof of misconduct.
- Editorial assessment: an editor or editorial-board member reviews the manuscript. A suitable subject expert may be consulted when specialist assessment is needed.
- Decision: the manuscript may be returned for revision, accepted, rejected or held while further information is requested. The Chief Editor or delegated editor makes the final decision.
- Editing and proof: accepted work may be copyedited for language, consistency and house style without changing its core meaning. Material changes are referred to the corresponding author before publication.
Submission does not guarantee acceptance, publication or a particular decision time. Editors and reviewers must keep unpublished manuscripts confidential and disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
3. Appeals and complaints
An author may appeal a decision by emailing chiefeditor@futureagriculture.co.in with the article title, decision and a concise explanation. Appeals should normally be made within 30 days. A person who was not materially conflicted will review the concern where practicable. Complaints about editorial conduct, ethics or published content may be submitted at any time and will be acknowledged and assessed fairly.
4. Corrections
Errors that do not invalidate the article may be corrected through an updated file or a dated correction notice. Corrections will identify what changed and, where practical, preserve the original publication record. Minor formatting changes that do not affect meaning may be made without a formal notice.
5. Retractions and expressions of concern
An article may be retracted when its findings or central claims are unreliable because of serious error or misconduct, when it contains plagiarised or unlawfully used material, or when publication was unethical. A retraction notice will identify the article, state the reason as clearly as circumstances permit and remain linked to the record. The article will ordinarily remain identifiable as retracted rather than silently disappear. An expression of concern may be issued while a serious, unresolved investigation is underway.
6. Withdrawal before and after publication
Authors may request withdrawal before publication by contacting the editorial office. The editor may ask all listed authors to confirm. Once published, an article is part of the scholarly record and will not be removed merely because an author changes their mind. Post-publication removal is reserved for exceptional legal, privacy or safety reasons; a notice will normally remain in its place.
7. Article processing and publication charges
Future Agriculture charges an article processing charge of INR 700 for each accepted article. No fee is charged at submission and there is no separate editorial-review fee. The charge becomes payable only after formal acceptance and before publication. Payment status cannot influence the editorial assessment or acceptance decision. Payment instructions are sent through the official futureagriculture.co.in email address, and the Refund Policy applies.
8. Policy basis
